Children Who May Not Attend School
Children may not attend when they are:
• Positive COVID test
• Positive COVID test
COVID Absences:
The first day student/staff test positive for COVID, this is considered day 0. The student/staff must remain at home for 5 additional days. The student/staff can return to school on Day 6.
For example:
Tuesday- Test positive (Day 0)
Wednesday-Sunday (5 Days)
Monday- Return to school (Day 6)
Children also may not attend if they are experiencing any of the following:
• A cough, fever, shortness of breath, difficulty
breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills,
muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new
loss of taste or smell
• Fever (temperature higher than 100.4
degrees Fahrenheit)
• Severe sore throat that lasts more than 48
hours, especially with a fever
• A significant rash, particularly when other
symptoms are present
• Large amounts of discolored nasal
discharge or eye discharge
